1st ICOS Science Conference on Greenhouse Gases and Biogeochemical Cycles in Brussels, Belgium, 23-25 Sept, 2014

ICOS RI will organise the

1st ICOS International Conference on Greenhouse Gases and Biogeochemical Cycles
in Brussels 23-25 September 2014.

The conference is open for all scientists interested in research on greenhouse gases, biochemical cycles and climate change.

The conference is hosted by ICOS ​RI, ​University ​of ​Antwerp, ​Belgian ​Science ​Policy ​Office, ​Walloon ​government, ​EWI ​Department ​for ​Economy, ​Science ​and ​ Innovation ​and ​University ​of ​Liege.

The ICOS Science Conference will address:

· Atmospheric GHG concentrations and anthropogenic sources

· ICOS data and global biogeochemical modelling

· Biogeochemical cycles of forests, grasslands, wetlands and agricultural ecosystems

· Ocean GHG observations and fluxes

· Regional integrations

· Different GHG species

Contributions on freshwaters and urban environments are also welcomed. Early career scientists, especially from Eastern Europe, may apply travel grants, supported by the TTORCH. More information in May.

· 4 July 2014, notice on abstract acceptance

V Conferência Nacional de Mecânica dos Fluidos, Termodinâmica e Energia
11–12 de Setembro de 2014

A Associação Portuguesa de Mecânica Teórica, Aplicada e Computacional
(APMTAC) e a Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) têm
o prazer de anunciar que a V Conferência Nacional de Mecânica dos
Fluidos, Termodinâmica e Energia MEFTE 2014 terá lugar no Porto, nos
dias 11 e 12 de Setembro de 2014, numa organização conjunta da FEUP,
CIIMAR, IST-UL, FCTUC, EEUM e LNEC.

Esta conferência nacional tem por objectivo principal promover o
encontro dos investigadores portugueses que trabalham na área da
dinâmica dos fluidos, termodinâmica e energia. As quatro edições
anteriores realizaram-se na Caparica (2006), Aveiro (2008), Bragança
(2009) e Lisboa (2012). Desde a primeira edição que a Conferência
fomentou a participação de jovens investigadores/estudantes,
contribuindo para a divulgação do seu trabalho e para o estabelecimento
de ligações com outros grupos de investigação e/ou investigadores.

Na presente edição, a conferência abre-se à participação da comunidade
científica galega, dado o número cada vez mais elevado de projectos
científicos transfronteiriços, e a proximidade geográfica e cultural de
Portugal e da Galiza.

As línguas de trabalho da MEFTE 2014 são o português, o castelhano, o
galego e o inglês. A língua oficial da conferência é o português.
