> () of the research centres in the > Helmholtz-Association the successful candidate will study the impact of > changes in aerosol distribution on the climate in the past decades by > applying appropriate statistical methods. One major focus is on the > impact on the temporal distribution of precipitation over Northern and > Central Europe. At first a realistical, temporal and spatial aerosol > distribution over Europe will be compiled, which will then be used in a > regional climate model to build a reconstruction of climate changes in > the past decades. The thus obtained data record of consistent and > homogeneous meteorological quantities forms the necessary basis for the > statistical studies, which represent the major part of the work. >
> The successful candidate will work in the regional climate group at the > Institute for Coastal Research at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht. > She/he will cooperate with scientists from other Helmholtz centres in > the climate initiative REKLIM.
